Star Boy

Some of my favorite memories from my childhood were unboxing the two boxes I had full of beanie babies, street market stuffies and various teddy bear hand-me downs from my siblings during play time. I really believed each toy had a personal story and came alive when I wasn’t in the room. I spoke to them like they could hear me and in a lot of ways they were my first set of friends before I went out into the world and made real life human friends. In all honesty, I’ve never completely stopped believing that the toys can hear us and have feelings. I guess I'm somewhere caught between a realistic adult and fantasy world child. I like it here. 

I had the idea for Starboy when I started Tams as the sidekick character to my TamsYen cartoon. He is her supportive friend who brings her comfort, laughs and a listening ear whenever you need it. He quite literally hangs by your side and is the friend you can take with you anywhere. 

Take care of him and he will take care of you back. Starboy is my reminder that you don’t stop playing just because you grew up.
